Frequently
asked questions
How do I get an API token?
Create an account and a token is issued for your first project. You will find it under API tokens in the dashboard.
How many messages can I send per request?
Up to 100 per call to /sms/bulk. For more, split them into batches and send them in parallel: each bulk call counts as a single request against your rate limit.
How do I know a message was delivered?
Point a webhook at your token and every status change, from accepted to delivered or failed, arrives there as it happens.
Does accepted mean delivered?
No. The API accepts the message and returns its id; delivery comes later, when the carrier confirms it and your webhook receives the delivered status.
What does each SMS cost?
It depends on the destination country and on the number of parts: a standard SMS holds 160 characters, or 70 with accents or emoji, and each extra part is billed as one more SMS. Per-country prices are readable from the API.
Can I send to the United States and Canada?
Yes, from a registered sender: a 10DLC brand and campaign or a verified toll-free number, requested from the dashboard like any other country registration.
Should I use REST or SMPP?
REST for most applications. SMPP when you run your own messaging platform or need persistent sessions at carrier-grade volume.
Can I receive replies?
Yes, with two-way enabled on your account: inbound messages and opt-outs arrive on the same webhook as your delivery reports.
